1. Is your laboratory certified? Yes, Western Analytical Laboratory is accredited by the National Voluntary Accreditation Program (NVLAP) through National Insitute of Standards and Technology. This means that Western Analytical undergoes thorough proficiency testing twice a year and an onsite accreditation audit every other year. Click here to view our accreditation certificates. 2. How long has Western Analytical been in business and what is the experience of the staff? Western Analytical Laboratory has been testing asbestos samples since 1995. Our staff has experience in asbestos testing beyond this; the average experience of our staff is 20 years. The laboratory has tested tens of thousands of samples up to this point. We are known with our customers for our fast, responsive and courteous service. 3. How do I collect samples for testing? There is a thorough step-by-step guide on sample collection and sumbittal on this website. Please click above to go there. 4. Do you sell asbestos test kits? Asbestos test kits comprise nothing more than a few ziploc bags and instructions on how to collect samples. Don't be misled by the low cost of asbestos test kits. In addition to paying for the kit, you have to pay an additional testing fee. By supplying your own ziploc bags and following the instructions on our web site you only pay the testing cost and receive results within 24 hours, compared to more than a week if you order an asbestos testing kit online. 5. What does your test report show? Our Test Report is detailed and comprehensive. If asbestos is detected, we report the type and its concentration by weight. We also report any non-asbestos fibers (e.g. fiberglass, cellulose, etc.) with their concentrations and identify the non-fibrous components of a material. 6. Can I send in my samples if I cannot deliver them myself? Samples can be sent in by mail, UPS, FedEx, etc. The results will be available within 24 hours of receiving the samples. Click here for driving directions. 7. What forms of payment does Western Analytical accept for testing services? Money orders, personal checks, and credit cards. Personal checks do not delay the reporting of the results. If you would like to pay with a credit card, click here for a fast secure online payment. 8. How long will it take to receive the results of the test? Western Analytical notifies the client of the results within 24 hours of receiving the sample. If the lab receives the sample before noon, the client is usually notified of the results on that same day. Per your request, the report can be emailed, faxed, and/or mailed. 9. Who else will know about my test results? All Western Analytical test results are confidential. No one except the client will be notified of the results. Only with the client's written permission and by his/hers directions, will the results be made known to others. 10. Do you provide Lead Testing services? I would like to bring in the samples myself. How do I drive to your lab? Our Business Hours are 8:30am to 5:30 pm, Monday thru Friday. Western Analytical is conveniently located close to Interstate 5 just northwest of Burbank Airport. The exit to our lab on Interstate 5 is also very close to the transitions from 118 and 170 freeways. From 5 North: Exit on Branford Street and make a right turn. Continue on Branford and cross Laurel Canyon. Just before the two lanes merge, from the second merging arrow, make a right turn into the 12734 Branford Street business park. Western Analytical is in Unit #19. From 5 South:Exit on Osborne Street. Make a left turn on Osborne and then a right turn on Laurel Canyon. Continue on Laurel Canyon until Branford Street and make a left turn on Branford. From the right lane, on the second merging arrow, make a right turn into the 12734 Branford Street business park.
